Investigation into numerous flute thefts end with Patricia North being sentenced to felony probation.

Michael Rolfes was retained by Christa Scott to retrieve her Haynes Flute - #37585 - valued at $5500 and her Powell Signature Wood Piccolo - #0307 - valued at $4500, on August 8, 2019.  On August 12, 2019, I interviewed Patricia North at her residence while wearing my body camera.  The videos of that interview can be viewed here

During the time of my investigation, I found that Patricia North had pawned Ms. Scott's instruments for cash and had done so with at least 9 other victims.  Those victims contacted me after being interviewed by Angenette Levy, formerly of Local12.  The total losses to all of the victims exceeded $75,000 for whom the statute of limitations had not run out.  I turned over the evidence that I had obtained as part of my investigation to Det Jeff Ertel of the Cincinnati Police Dept.

She was eventually indicted on 3 third degree felony theft charges and 1 count of 4th degree felony unauthorized use of property.

As part of her plea, she plead guilty to 1 felony count of unauthorized use of property.  She was sentenced to 5 years of probation and was ordered to obtain a full-time job in order to re-pay restitution exceeding $75,000.
